New Research on Fertilizer Subsidy Program Impact

The July 31 update from Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Security Policy (FSP) has been published sharing their recent research to fight hunger, reduce poverty and improve nutritional outcomes through better food policy. Of particular interest to the Africa Lead community is the story and a presentation by Nicole Mason from Michigan State University: “The Scoop on Fertilizer Subsidies”. Dr Mason compares results of Zambian farmers (small holders and larger farmers) who have or have not had access to fertilizer subsidy programs and some of the things that have gone well and some that need to be improved.  Her key takeaways are the need to inform, reform and advocate.
