Africa Lead held a strategic planning workshop on 1 February 2018 to help youth entrepreneur, Kisioki Moitiko, and representatives from The International Collaborative for Science, Education, and the Environment (ICSEE) complete the non-profit’s Five Year Strategic Plan.

Although ICSEE has conducted a number of effective grassroots initiatives since 2009 that have addressed unemployment, installed solar power, and promoted women’s empowerment in small villages surrounding Monduli, the organization still lacks a strategic plan that would provide direction and focus on the long-term sustainability. “We have ideas about the direction we want ICSEE to take and are motivated to get there, but we don’t have a clear plan to help us reach our goals,” said Kisioki.

Madawa Mhanga, Africa Lead technical agribusiness expert, has supported Kisioki over the last three months in the development of a strategic plan that includes objectives, growth strategy, risk analysis, financial plan and projections, marketing and communications plan, and action plan.

Kisioki believes that the five-year strategic plan will help ICSEE meet their goals for expansion of current programming and job creation for the Maasai people. “Madawa has provided much needed support in terms of helping us through the strategic planning process to focus our attention on what works and is sustainable,” said Kisioki.
