Africa Lead II (AL II), through its East and Southern Africa (ESA) and West Africa (WA) regional offices, successfully designs and delivers leadership and technical training and institutional capacity strengthening programs that support the implementation of USAID missions programs in agricultural production, food security and nutrition. These capacity building efforts are designed to improve implementation of Africa’s CAADP and Malabo Declaration commitments at the country, regional and continental levels. Nearly all of the AL II training is delivered by AL II-trained facilitators.
To date, Africa Lead trainers have conducted training in over 27 different content areas for approximately 312 different organizations, institutions and agencies. Examples of the different types of content that facilitators are able to deliver include:
- Policy Formulation
- Leading and Managing Change to Results Framework Analysis
- Conducting Needs Assessments
- Community Mobilization, Team Building and Transformational Leadership
A number of the Africa Lead trainers have worked closely with IFPRI/ReSAKSS to facilitate Joint Sector Review Assessments and Validation workshops and New Alliance/Grow Africa Validation workshops.
To facilitate these efforts, Africa Lead has invested in building the capacity of experienced trainers/facilitators that are able to understand and facilitate discussions relating to agricultural transformation and have a proven track record in delivering capacity building training programs for multiple stakeholders within the agricultural sector.
